↳ FAMILY: In the Hayes family, the men always had the spotlight. All of the Hayes men were extremely successful in whatever endeavors they put their minds to, and the family name is very well known in the wizarding world. Sophie Hayes sees this as both a blessing and a curse; a blessing, because everyone knew who the Hayes siblings were and wanted to be their friend because of their connections. A curse because since she is a girl, she was always just pushed aside as her older brother Ellis took her shine. To say that Sophie and Ellis did not get along would be the world’s biggest understatement. The two were like oil and water, night and day. From a young age, Sophie despised her older brother and would do everything she could to make his life a living hell. No matter how hard Sophie tried to please her parents, it was never enough; all of their praise went to her older brother who didn’t even seem like he wanted the attention. This of course caused the young Hayes girl to rebel, and she was soon a sort of disgrace to the family.
↳ EDUCATION: While most rebels would slack off in school, Sophie wasn’t like most rebels. She gets by with passing grades and the occasional O that she works hard for. Even though she resents her family for neglecting her all of her life, she still is determined to prove something to them, that she is worthy of their praise and love, even if she is unwilling to admit it to herself. She just tells herself that she is working hard for herself, to get out of the shithole that she is forced to call home, and make a name for herself when she finds a job after Hogwarts. And so, on the weekends while her fellow classmates are off sneaking drinks by the Black Lake, or hooking up in the Room of Requirements, you can find Sophie in the library with her nose in a book, or writing an essay that isn’t due for another two weeks. Some may call her an overachiever, but knowledge didn’t come to her naturally like some students, and so she has to work extra hard to earn the grades that she desires.
↳ HOGWARTS: It was no surprise when Sophie was sorted into Slytherin, since the rest of her family before her, excluding Ellis, were Slytherin alumnus. The moment the young girl of eleven sat down with her fellow Slytherins after the Sorting Ceremony, she immediately joined in their jeering of the rest of their classmates, earning her a good place in the older students’ books. Sophie is very proud of the fact that her family is pureblood, and she absolutely despises anyone else whose blood is tainted, or even if they associate themselves with people that aren’t pureblood. She wholly agrees with the saying, “you are the company that you keep,” and she doesn’t want to taint her status or reputation by mingling with those that weren’t worthy. Coming from a wealthy family of well-known wizards, Sophie uses that aspect to her advantage and will brag about her money or famous relatives to anyone that will listen. At first, people are intrigued and want to know more, asking for autographs and such, but eventually they get tired of hearing her run her mouth, and some try to avoid talking to her at all costs.
Sophie is a cold and calculating person with a hint (or two… or four) of bitterness, and she isn’t an easy person to get along with. The only people that she deems worthy of her time are her fellow Slytherins, but even then there are a few in her house that she cannot stand, and she has no problem whatsoever making it known. She is the type of person to spread nasty rumors about someone, and when confronted, she isn’t afraid to own up to it and admit that it was her. In fact, she wishes people would confront her, but the ones that do usually are on the receiving end of a hex or a bloody nose, earning her a spot in detention regularly. Sophie enjoys creating petty drama with anyone outside of her house, especially her older brother Ellis. When the two aren’t acknowledging the fact that they are related, Sophie is known to spread rumors about her own brother, and to make vile comments directed towards him.
↳ ELLIS HAYES: Sophie never liked her older brother, and it would be ridiculous to think that this fact changed once they both attended Hogwarts. She tries to stay clear of him most of the time, enjoying her time when not all eyes are focused on him and forgetting about her. It is very rare that she is the one to approach him and actually talk to him - and if so, it’s almost never a positive approach - and she prefers it if people do not know that they are actually related.
↳ AIDEN MONTGOMERY: Her favourite target when it comes to bullying. To Sophie the rather quiet boy seems hilarious, and whenever they have a class together, she points her fingers at him, laughs at what he says, watches him with raised eyebrows and makes his life a living hell. She can’t remember ever saying a nice word to him, and she doesn’t intend to do it in the future.
